The Los Angeles fires are heartbreaking. I do not know what it is like to lose my house but I do know what it is like to find that your life is suddenly much, much worse. That grief will never disappear. Flipping through New York magazine this week, I was surprised to see the name David Nuss next to several photos of a minimalist, expensive-looking home that he shares with his wife, Sarah Martin-Nuss. The story is about the interior design of their three-story house in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Nuss was identified only as “a musician,” a generalization that, in the large context of showing off and/or fawning over his apparent wealth, I suppose makes sense.
