Why wait until December?

Sixteen days into this leap year and we’ve already got great music. Refreshers, Astrid Sonne, Vijay Iyer, Kim Gordon, Bergonsonist… A bounty! My favorite is the piano and spoken word piece from Alex Deforce and Charlotte Jacobs on the invincible Stroom label. Take a listen. Also “Boost” from Astrid Sonne’s Great Doubt which will probably be my favorite album of the year. Why wait til December to call it?
